BeWell MedPoint Integration Set-up

BeWell MedPoint Integration Set-up

The BeWell patient platform has integrated the MedPoint API to give patients the option of 24/7 collection option when ordering their prescriptions on the BeWell app.

This integration could be used instead of a two-way PMR integration or, if you use the one-way PMR QR code labels, then this API integration could be used in a hybrid way for your BeWell patients. Speak to a member of support for more information.

If you sue the BeWell integration, patients will receive their collection pin codes via the BeWell app and the order status within BeWell will automatically be updated to ready & collected, reducing administrative workload. Currently, only exempt prescriptions are supported as BeWell do not take payments as of yet.

Initial Set-up
  1. Medpoint API connection should be configured in BeWell Connections settings for a particular location  (BeWell support)
  2. Check Locker Delivery is set to “enabled” in BeWell location settings so that Locker delivery option is available to patients when submitting an order.

Order Workflow:

  1. Patient submits the order with Locker delivery selected
  2. Pharmacy receives an order on the BeWell back-end
  3. Patient submits exemption declaration form. *** Important: pharmacy cannot scan or input bag barcode until patient declaration form is submitted. Charged orders are not yet supported via the integration.
  4. Pharmacy labels prescription on the PMR and uses the PMR bag label with the standard linear barcode as the unique ID  for the bag. This is scanned  onto the BeWell order to link the physical bag to the BeWell order. The barcode can also be entered manually. (Note: Do NOT use the QR coded bag label used for loading non-BewelL orders).
  5. Load the bag into the MedPoint
  6. After machine scanning is completed, the order is automatically created in the Medpoint Portal via the API interface. The order status in BeWell is changed to “processing” automatically.
  7. Order marked as ready for collection automatically - pin code, locker number are available for patient in order details section of mobile app, and for pharmacist as well. Also patient receives an email with locker delivery details.
