Guide to one-way QR code PMR integration workflow - Analyst PMR, Pharmacy Manager PMR

Overview
This method of MedPoint integration involves your PMR system printing a specially formatted additional bag label. This additional bag label has a QR code which contains all the information needed to automatically create an order on the MedPoint system without any data entry by pharmacy staff.

This bag label is placed on the bottom of bags loaded into the MedPoint.

The PMR systems using this method include Analyst, Pharmacy Manager and RxWeb.

General Process

Patient Set-up
  1. Edit the patient record to add their mobile phone number and email address (optional).
  2. The patient must also be flagged as a user of the MedPoint 24/7 collection service. The setup of this varies depending on PMR system
    1. Analyst PMR - Edit patient details to set "Delivery service provider" to "MedPoint" and ensure mobile number is on SMS tab. See here for full details.
    2. Pharmacy Manager - Set collection method to "Robot Collection" . See here for details (Note, Pharmacy manager does NOT currently support use of email address)
    3. RxWeb - Add “Collection Point” to the “Bag Label Note” field on Patient details screen. Add mobile/email address to be added - see here for details
Workflow (Analyst, Pharmacy Manager PMR Only, see here for RxWeb Workflow)
  1. Label & dispense all prescriptions as normal
  2. MedPoint flagged patients will have an additional bag label (we recommend using a different colour basket to segregate)
  3. When the order is being checked & bagged, ensure the MedPoint QR coded bag label is positioned as the only label on bottom of bag. The "normal" PMR bag label can go anywhere else.
  4. Segregate MedPoint bags in a tote box until there are enough to load as a batch. ( We recommend  2-3 batches per day). File prescription tokens alphabetically.
  5. [OPTIONAL] If your PMR includes bag location tracking functionality, we recommend scanning the bag into a virtual location at this stage
  6. Load by placing the bags into any vacant shelves in the MedPoint machine,
  7. Once the machine has self-scanned the orders will appear on the MedPoint portal. This means the customer has been automatically notified of their order being ready.
  8. Collected orders should be reviewed on a daily basis using the "Collections report" on MedPoint portal to identify & claim for prescriptions collected the previous day.
